Due to Florida’s sub-tropical climate, aquatic and wetland areas are constantly subjected to invasion by plant species native to South America, Africa, Australia and other places with similar climates.

Eradicating and control of exotic, invasive and noxious vegetation in man-made or natural wetlands and lakes involves the use of a combination of techniques. This includes the application of various aquatic herbicides, biological control such as stocking of grass carp, providing proper aeration, balancing water chemistry, planting native species, and stocking native fish.

The stability and aesthetics of aquatic ecosystems can be drastically degraded if aquatic habitats are not properly maintained.  This is especially true for stormwater ponds, which function to collect stormwater run-off and filter out impurities. Wetland mitigation areas are permitted with conditions that prohibit exotic and invasive plants.

Aquatic Management Services, Inc. specializes in providing solutions to problems in aquatic systems found throughout central Florida, such as stormwater lakes, wetland mitigation areas, and natural water bodies.
